CASE STUDIES

Publications & Reports

Case Study 1:
I have produced all of Catholic Social Services’ major publications since 2021. Their FY25 Annual Report is a bespoke 16-pager that captures the work of 10 programs across social services and behavioral health as a single mission, and tells client success stories while maintaining client privacy and following HIPAA guidelines.
Outcome: A report that captures the whole mission of the largest social service agency in Alaska that shows how all of the various programs interconnect and support the same unified goal. Comprehensive enough for meetings with major funders, while accessible enough to give to volunteers and first-time donors.

Case Study 2:
I have produced all of Catholic Community Service’s communications since 2023. For their annual report, they most needed something that was polished and captured their mission and impact in just two pages, making it easily modifiable for many different audiences and use cases.
Outcome: A brief but polished 2-pager that captures the mission and scope of their work while being nimble enough to quickly retool for new audiences, from meetings with individual supporters to local outreach with community organizations to national advocacy in Washington DC, and print in their own office.

Information Design

Case Study 1:
To support Catholic Community Service’s legislative advocacy on behalf of AGEnet in 2026, I used their own fiscal year data and data aggregated by the University of Alaska to demonstrate both the economic importance of our elderly population and the direct correlation between rising costs, decreased budgets, and decreased availability of services.
Outcome: A tight and polished report that combines internal and external data from multiple sources which was distributed to Alaska state legislators and used to advocate for the needed baseline funding for senior services, providing clear and actionable steps for state legislators to take, directly backed by the numbers.

Case Study 2:
In 2025, I created a single sheet chart that combines program and survey data from Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services to demonstrate the breadth of skillsets that refugees have brought to Alaska in the past 5 years, including which sectors have benefited most, where English language skills are weakest, and creating opportunities to advocate for language training, licensing reconsiderations, and the economic importance of Alaska’s refugee community.
Outcome: A condensed way to view and explain the potential economic contributions of more than 800 workers from 50+ countries, used in conversation with both municipal and state bodies in Alaska, and with local business advocacy efforts.

Interim Communications Coverage

Since 2023 I have operated, in full or in part, the communications and fundraising of several non-profits during periods of low or no staff, including Anchorage Community Land Trust, Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Catholic Community Services, and Catholic Social Services. By taking ownership of their digital marketing, fundraising, event promotion, and comms channels for the necessary duration (4 months to 3+ years), I provided them with the headroom to plan out their new teams and have the time to seek and hire the right permanent staff.
